Course objectives
The main goal of the course is to master characteristic features of English syntax, mainly in comparison with the structure of the students' mother tongue. Students will be bale to understand the differences between the simple, compound and complex sentence will be studied. They will explore and gradually master all types of dependent clauses, complex condensation and information processing. Throughout the semester students are encouraged to link theory in the classroom to practice at schools via practical tasks.

March Chapter 13 - cont. Chapter 10 C - Verbs taking the infinitive or -ing (participle) according to meaning. Chapter 16 - Complementation of verbs and adjectives - selfstudy. Assessment methods
To get a credit from the subject Syntax B, students have to take a mid-term test and translation, and a final credit test (the overall average must be 70%+). Having met these requirements, students can then sit the oral part to the final exam comprising all the topics of both semesters as well as the final test discussion.
