- Course objectives
- Main objectives can be summarized as follows:
- To combine teoretical knowledge received by means of lectures and by means of self-study with experimental work on chosem experiments, tat represent the main problems of inorganic chemistry.
- To improve intelectual and manual laboratory skills, received in the subject Laboratory technics.
- To prepare students, future teachers, to be able to experimentaly work in inorganic chemistry laboratory.
- To teach studens to work carefully in the laboratory, to prepare the work and to process responsibly the results. - Syllabus

- I. Demonstrational exercises:
- 1. Chlorine, its preparation and properties.
- 2. Reduction of lead oxide by means of hydrogene.
- 3. Self-combustibility of white phosphorus.
- 4. Potassium chlorate, bengal lights.
- 5. Aluminothermy.
- II. Properties of substances:
- 6. Electrolysis of water.
- 7. Properties of sodium hydroxide.
- 8. Hydrogene and its properties.
- 9. Oxygene and its properties I.
- 10. Oxygene and its properties II.
- 11. Water, hardness of water, proof of chosen anions.
- 12. Water, hydrates, hydratation, dehydratation, solvatation.
- 13. Redox reactions of hydro peroxide.
- 14. Typical flame colouring by ions of alkali metals and alkali earth metals.
- 15. Electrolysis of water solution of sodium chloride.
- 16. Reactions of Na, K, Ca with water.
- 17. Combustion of Mg, reaction of Mg with water.
- 18. Determination of molar mass of CaCO3.
- 19. Function of refrigerating mixtures.
- 20. Sulphur and its properties.
- 21. Analytical reactions of chosen anions.
- 22. Redox properties of metals, reaction of copper with acids.
- 23. Reactions of K2Cr2O7, KMnO4 and Na2SO3.
- 24. Temperature dependence of reaction rate, dependence of reaction rate on reactants concentration.

- Type of classwork:
Laboratory training. It is carried on during the first half of the semester in blocks, each 4 hours - Assessment methods
- Colloquium
- work at all exercises, includint initial instructions and making order in the lastlesson. All the absentions must be replaced.
- Correct protocols about all exercises.
- Destroyed laboratory equipment must be replaced,
