- Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- It is a propedeutic subject that aims to unify the level of selected knowledge and skills of students in the field of science and social sciences, to present students with an interdisciplinary view of nature and society and to learn teaching examples based on a constructivist approach.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course the student will be able to:
- Determine factors influencing life on Earth
- Identify individual meteorological elements and explain their impact on weather and climate
- To characterize individual zonal bios of the world and to compare abiotic and biotic differences
- To distinguish groups of chemicals in living organisms and to list the functions of these groups of substances in living organisms
- To describe the properties of living organisms, to compare these properties in individual groups of organisms and to give examples of adaptation mechanisms of selected groups of organisms
- Identify, describe and categorize selected species of animals and plants within the taxonomic classification
- To characterize model ecosystems in the Czech Republic including model representatives of organisms of these ecosystems
- Provide examples of territorial and species protection in the Czech Republic, including the impact of a given degree of protection on the further use of these sites by humans
These topics should be able to explain to the pupils of the first degree from an integrated interdisciplinary point of view. - Syllabus
- Syllabus of the course: These are practical exercises using activating teaching methods supported by original worksheets and e-learning study texts:
- 1. Surface of the Czech Republic and Europe
- 2. Meteorology, weather and weather forecasts
- 3. Climatology, climate and influence of abiotic factors on the climate of the site
- 4. Zonal bioms of the world and adaptation of organisms to conditions of individual biomes
- 5. Chemical composition of living organisms
- 6. Chemical processes in living organisms
- 7. Characteristics of living organisms (metabolism, nutritional relationships)
