Knowledge about development mathematic ideas and geometric imagination at preschool age. Finished items MSBK_RMP1 and MSBK_RMP2.

Course objectives
At the end of the course, students will be able to explain how pupils of first year of primary school learn about the natural numbers and about basic aritmetical operations - addition and substraction with natural numbers to twenty and how to develop geometric imagination of pupils.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course the student: • will be able to describe the level of mathematical thinking of the children at the beginning of the first grade. • will prove basic knowledge of expected outcomes of thematic areas of Number and numerical operations, Plain geometry and geometry in space in the first grade of the grammar school. • will be able to define the concept of natural number in different ways, to characterise the basic numerical operations of school mathematics.
Syllabus
  • Natural numbers, formation of concepts. Operation with numeral numbers, addition, substraction. Simple word problems. Creative abilities in the education process. Geometric shapes, geometric solids. Developing geometric imagination Symmetry.
