- Course objectives
- Learning outcome of the course is the orientation in social work and social policy. The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with basic concepts, principles, and tools of social policy and social work and with selected types of social services.
- Learning outcomes
- The students will be able to: - to be oriented in the system of social services and social care system - to use this knowledge while working with the client - to describe and use the methods of the counseling process
- Syllabus
- 1. Social policy - characteristic of the field, tools, function, and principles of social policy 2. Welfare state - historical development, types of welfare states and their comparison 3. Social care system - social assistance, social insurance and social support. 4. Social work - characteristic of the field, historical development, targets, methods, and forms social work. 5. The Social Service Act - definition of services, standards of quality social services. 6. Transformation of social services. 7. Social worker 8. Counseling (definition, phase of counseling process, methods)
