Course objectives
The students will be able to understand various factors that influence the process of language learning and acquisition. They will be able to identify individual differences among learners and develop appropriate instructional strategies to accommodate every learner in an inclusive classroom.
Learning outcomes
Students will:
-be familiar with the well-known theories of language acquisition,
-be able to read academic texts about new developments in the field of the second language acquisition,
-understand specific learning needs and their implications for foreign language teaching,
-be able to identify learners´specific needs,
-be able to plan and apply activities that accommodate individual learners´needs,
-suggest appropriate learning strategies to their learners,
-apply differentiation in teaching a heterogeneous class and develop further in this field,
-compile their teaching portfolios as an ongoing task,
-reflect on their professional development with the use of the portfolio.
