Course objectives
The objective is to practice and deepen knowledge of the Czech language acquired during the previous study, namely knowledge and ortofonické orthoepic standard Czech, Czech grammar, sentence structure and stylization texts in Czech.
Learning outcomes
Student after completion of the course focuses in grammatical system and Czech, that is able to apply theoretical and practical knowledge of grammar in spoken and written communication, able to correctly form sentences only in accordance with the rules of the Czech word order, but at a higher level stylistic able to create a properly formulate common symptoms of written texts and spoken language.
Syllabus
  • 1. Orthofonica and orthoepic standard.
  • 2. Practise of the Czech orthography (special problems: capital letters in the multiverbal proper names; groups of consonants in the Czech words).
  • 3. Repeating of the Czech grammar
  • 4. Sentencial construction in Czech.
  • 5. Using of semantic relations in contemporary Czech vocabulary; synonyms, antonyms.
  • 6. Czech Phraseology.
  • 7. Spoken texts.
  • 8. Stylization of Czech texts.
  • 9. Presentation of own textual creation.
  • The syllabus and the contents of the seminary can be modified due to the level of students knowledge of Czech language and the individual needs of the students.

Teaching methods
Individual consultations and independent study, practical exercises on grammatical phenomena, interpretation of grammatical principles, methods of analysis and comparison of linguistic phenomena, the problem of learning, self-stylization of written texts, speech and conversational exercises, extra homework.
Assessment methods
Student demonstrate theoretical knowledge of the subject matter in the form of test questions or individual interview and practical ability to chat and text styling by award.
