Course objectives
The aim of this course is to familiar students with educational theories from the perspective of different sciences (pedagogical and psychological) and with theories which influenced the current state of preprimary education in Czech and in the world.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to: -characterize the current educational theories; -describe selected educational theoretical approaches in international context; -analyze and compare differences between cognitive and social constructivism; -summarize the important aspects of the approaches of individual representatives of constructivist theories; -explain the applications of educational theories.

  • 1. Introduction to education theory (aims, subjects of education, content of education). 2. - 3. Academic theories. 4. Humanistic theories. 5. Social theories. 6. - 7. Constructivism. 8. The relationship between theories and the current curriculum of preprimary education. 9.- 10. Reflection of various theories in foreign curricula of preprimary education. 11. - 12. Playing theories.
