Prerequisites
Guitar playing:
The prerequisite for passing the course in the "Beginners" seminar group is at least basic knowledge of music theory. Introductory knowledge for the "Intermediate" group is orientation on the fretboard to the 5th position, chords in the basic position (major, minor, 7, 7maj), chord playing techniques, strumming and arpeggios. The "Advanced" level assumes knowledge of the above, together with a basic knowledge of the accompaniment of various musical genres, elementary playing from notes and a prerequisite for playing advanced playing techniques.

Course objectives
The main aim of the course is to learn basic playing skills and abilities or to improve them for music educational purposes and own artistic interests.
Learning outcomes
The beginner player gains the technical basics for playing piano, guitar or cimbalom. She/He can use the instrument for song accompaniment or solo playing. Advanced instrumentalist improves the technical and artistic level of instrumental playing, and extends her/his repertoire.
Students can enroll in the course repeatedly. The contents of individual semesters differ with regard to the increasing level of student's playing abilities.
Syllabus
  • Playing the piano (František Ostrý): 1. Playing simple melodies in bass key, 2. Coordination of movements of both hands, 3. The fundamental use of sustain pedal, 4. The selected scale, 5. Selected chords, 6. Basic accompanied by folk songs, 7. Basic chords, 8. Voice exercises in major mode, 9. Cadence T-S-T-D7 all major and minor keys in close harmony, 10. Diatonic modulation through the minor subdominant, 11. Transposition folk songs, 12. Basic principles of accompaniment in popular music

  • Playing the guitar (Ondřej Musil): 1. Instrument introduction, proper holding, and principles of playing, 2. The technique of left and right hand, 3. Orientation on the fretboard, 4. Scales, 5. Intervals, 6. Chords, 7. Chord symbols and diagrams, 8. Cadences, 9. Basic types of guitar accompaniment, 10. Playing and singing songs, 11. Introduction to sheet music and sight reading, 12. Accompaniment of various music genres, 13. Introduction to other plucked string instruments (ukulele, el. guitar, bass guitar)

  • Playing the cimbalom (Eduard Tomaštík): 1. Basic orientation in instrument mensura, 2. Fundamentals of Instrumental Stability in Depending on Shape of the Instrument, 3. Position of hands in a cimbalon playing - basic functions of the wrist, 4. Gradual pedal attachment and initial coordination of hands and feet, 5. Scale and chords in major, minor to double sharp and double flat in connection with the correct placing of sticks, 6. Simple folk songs - a melody in a small and unicorn octave, 7. Simple folk rhythm songs - a melody game in a small and unicorn octave, 8. Basic harmonic functions (T, S, D7, T) into double sharp and double flat, 9. Simple accompaniment of popular folk songs of double sharp and double flat - the ability to transpose, 10. Simple accompaniment of folk rhythm folk songs of two crosses and two bees - the possibility of transposition, 11. Ability to accompany the stretched melody by a basic bass line.
