Course objectives
The course focuses on different methods and approaches in English language teaching (ELT). At the end of the course students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the main concepts and ideas and to apply different methods and approaches in English language teaching (ELT). Students will be able to make informed decisions in selecting positive aspects of different methods and approaches and create their own eclectic approach to ELT.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students
will be able to think critically and express their opinion on the subject matter (methods and approaches used in English language teaching)
will be able to participate in discussions about topics in question
will be able to share with other students their learning and teaching experience and reflect on it in relation to methods and approaches used in English language teaching
will be able to demonstrate newly acquired knowledge including relevant terminology
will be able to apply principles of various methods and approaches of English language teaching in their teaching

Teaching methods
Seminar, group discussions, presentations, observation
Assessment methods
Assessment methods and criteria: 80% attendance, active participation (or moodlinka contributions), seminar work presentation, essay/interview. Students who did not pass any course in ELT methodology - assigned reading and moodlinka contributions.
