- Course objectives
- This course provides an overview of German literary periods from the beginnings untill the beginning of the 20th century.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students should be able to characterize the relevant literary periods from the beginning of German writing to 1900.

- The lecture ends with a oral exam: 2 questions on history of literature. Regular participation in lectures is desirable and useful.
