Course objectives
The aim of the course is to involve students in the activities of the department and enable them to "train" pedagogical competences necessary for the performance of the teaching profession; organization of popularization activities related to Russian (MJUNI, concerts, preparation of lessons for school visits, competitions, discussions and other extra-curricular activities - of their choice), in which students practice the application of theoretical knowledge of Russian teaching to practical activities.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students will know the basic procedures needed to organize extra-curricular activities; they will be able to organize or participate in the organization of events related to the Russian language.
Syllabus
  • 1. Selection of the extra-curricular activities in which the student will participate
  • 2. Preparation and organization of the event (event plan, materials, tools, etc.)
  • 3. Active participation in the selected extracurricular activity/activity implementation, etc.
  • 4. Evaluation of the extracurricular activity and self-assessment
  • 5. Preparation of the final paper according to the required requirements (description of the activity, description of the experience, description of self-motivation, self-reflection, references, photos, etc.)
  • 6. Submission of the final thesis

Teaching methods
Popularization activities related to the Russian language:
- Extra-curricular activities and their organization/assistance in organization (MjuNI, Night of Scientists, Science Festival, school visits, Pushkin Memorial, etc.);
- active participation in events related to Russian (attending concerts, talks, lectures, theatre in Russian language);
- volunteering - tutoring in Russian, clubs in Russian;
- trips abroad - Erasmus, summer or winter schools (as part of studies), holidays in Russian-speaking countries, etc.
Assessment methods
Preparation of the credit thesis and its submission in the examination period. The credit thesis can be submitted in the following formats:
- WORD/PDF (essay);
- POWERPOINT (presentation);
- VIDEO.
The final thesis contains a list of extra-curricular activities in which the student participated, their detailed description and content. The student also describes and evaluates his/her experience - what he/she liked/disliked, what could be improved, how exactly he/she got involved, describes his/her motivation, and focuses on self-reflection. The work is supplemented with photographs, references, materials (if the student created them). Works can be written in Czech/Russian.

Teacher's information
Students may enrol at any time during their studies, but it is recommended that they enrol in the last semester (6th semester) when it is clear that students have already participated in any extra-curricular activity in Russian. The adequacy (content and length) of the work submitted is judged by the course instructor. The extra-curricular activities are chosen by the students according to their own interests.
