The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The seminar provides a methodology of the garden therapy(GT). The students should get the overview about the opportunities of using GT at schools and other places. They get to know the concept of Green Care and its purpose in twentyf-first century education. Students will be also able to use the methods og GT in their own teaching. They will be able to work with different target groups. The interactive methods of teaching will be used along with their personal experience as the participants.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to use the materials for the GT practice, they will understand the goals and the concept of GT and they will be aware of different sources of information about the GT topic. At the end of the seminar there will be also legislation of the public education included. After going through the seminar the students will be able to: • describe the goals and the effects of GT • describe all the target groups and analyze their needs during the GT realization • expline the basic principals for GT setting with respect to the trget group and the therapy purpose • orientate in the trends of the recent garden peagogy and in interactive methods of teaching • characterize the GT organizations • work with the principals and mathods of GT in the enviroment of the school • use the metodical materials • use the GT methods in own teaching
Syllabus
  • 1. Formation end evolution of GT iver the world and in the Czech Republic. The concept of Green Care and the systhem of education in GT, examples of the good practice in EU. 2. The gols and the effects of GT, distribution into the target groups accorging to the needs of the therapy. 3. Basic methods of the sences activation, better comfort and attractivness of the stay in the gardens. 4. The school garden – natural place for social involvement and communication. Školní zahrada – přírodní učebna jako prostor pro sociální zapojení, komunikaci. Know –how sharing with the students with special needs. 5. Suitable plants for GT. The soil as a therapy. 6. Chance to use other therapic potencials of the garden.
