Course objectives
Familiarization of with less well-known but pharmaceutically important families of plants (autotrophic organisms), especially tropics and subtropes.
Learning outcomes
Knowledge of lesser-known taxa of pharmacetically important plants.
Syllabus
  • Lectures:
    1+2. Introduction to the plant taxonomy, classification systems - APG I, II and III. Pharmaceutically important protists.
    3+4. Mosses, spore producing vascular plants, gymnosperms
    5+6. Basal plant families and magnolids.
    7+8. Monocot plants
    9+10.Basal eudicots and fabids.
    11+12.Rosids.
    13+14.Lamiids and Campanulids.
    Practical classes:
    1. Determination of pharmaceutically important plants I
    2. Determination of pharmaceutically important plants II
    3. Determination of pharmaceutically important plants III.
