Course objectives
In October 1999, the exhibition "Texturen" about Hölderlin and his contemporaries was shown in Brno. Some of you remebers the sympathic young members of the Hölderlin-Society they organized it. This course will help you to understand the work of the great lyric poet and to learn his reception by Rilke, Celan, Bobrowski. We shall read and discuss the novel Hölderlin by Peter Härtling, the play Hölderlin by Peter Weiss and the radio play Scardanelli by Stephan Hermlin. Your research papers should be presented at a student symposium in Tübingen. Tübingen is the seat of the Hölderlin-Siciety.
