- Course objectives
- Psychopathology The course concentrates on defining mental normality and abnormality and on the fundamental terminology of psychopathology. Separately, we will deal with the etiologic issues taking the mental diseases into consideration. Next, we will pay attention to disorders in the field of perception, attention, memory, intellectual qualities, thinking, emotions, instincts, will and consciousness. Special emphasis will be put on personality and its disorders. We will also study neuroses, psychopathy, psychoses, somatogenic mental disorders, mental disorders accompanying infectious illnesses, mental disorders accompanying intoxication, mental disorders accompanying organic brain diseases, mental disorders accompanying epilepsy, mental retardation, mental disorders in the period of involution and senior age and behavioural disorders. We will also mention infant paralysis and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Prevention and therapy of mental diseases will be dealt with separately.
