Course objectives
The lecture about modern science will be concentrated mainly on key scientific personalities of modern period , i. e. Copernicus, J.Kepler, G.Galilei and I. Newton. Introduction will be focused on brief exponing of antic astronomic and physical conceptions (namely that of Ptolemy and Aristotle), the relation between parisian nominalists (J.Buridan, M.Oresme) and modern science will be scetched too, and the relation between them and mechanics of Galileo especially.

  • Antic astronomical and physical theories, theory of matter. Astronomy, physics, theory of matter, alchemy in Middle Ages. Scientific theories of renaissance. Copernicus
