Course objectives
Elementary information about purposes and methods of language classification. Three approaches: typological, areal and genetic. Principles of lexicostatistics and glottochronology. Systematical overview of all language families with the most important languages, classified genetically in higher taxonomical units.
Syllabus
  • Genetická klasifikace jazyků, její principy a metody. Genetická a areálová příbuznost jazyků. Modely konvergence a jazyková příbuznost. Metody zjišťování genetické příbuznosti. Metody genetické klasifkace. Přehled standardních jazykových rovin i hypotetických vyšších jednotek. Nostratická makrofyla. Dené-kavkazská mokrofyla (= paleoeurasijská). Austrijská makrofyla. Indo-pacifická makrofyla. Amerindiánská makrofyla. Khoisanská makrofyla. N základní přehled jazyků navazují specializované kurzy vybraných jazykových rodin, které se cyklicky střídají.
