Course objectives

ATTENTION - FALSE TITLE OF THE COURSE!! Introduction into the medieval painting and sculpture. Main methodological approaches, survey of bibliography, actual themes.

Syllabus

1. History of culture and chronology of the Middle Ages (MA).
2. MA as the Christian epoch.
3. Following the Antiquity.
4. Byzantium and its "influence".
5. Sculpture as the specific feature of the Western culture.
6. The world of Medieval ideas.
7. Developments of forms.
8. Iconology of medieval art.
9. Italy in the MA.
10.-12. Specific features of Bohemian developments.
13.M main actual themes of medieval research.

Assessment methods (in Czech)

Kontaktní studium (pravděpodobné termíny výuky: 3/4 + 26/27 října, 16/17 listopadu a 7/8 prosince; přesný termín bude sdělen hromadným e-mailem registrovaným studentům před termínem zápisu). Kredit typu B. Zkouška - písemný test.
