Course objectives
The course will focus on a critical survey of the basic paradigms, concepts and instruments of new film history and on comparison of film history with historiography as such. Basic literature: M. Lagny: De l'histoire du cinéma: méthode historique et histoire du cinéma. Paris: A. Colin 1992; Jacques Aumont - André Gaudreault - Michel Marie (eds.): L'Histoire du cinéma: nouvelles approches.
