European painting of the 17th century.
Syllabus
  • Introduction into European painting of the 17th century. Themes: major specialisations of the baroque painting, themes and concepts of the baroque painting (frescos, altar and easel paintings, preliminary works, ephmer decorations, concettismo, theory of decorum, ilusionismus ), social backround (educations and social position of the painters, painter and patron of arts); introduction into the oeuvre of Caravaggio, brothers Carracci, Diego Velásquéz, Nicolas Poussin, P. P. Rubens, Rembrandt, Karel Škréta, Joachim von Sandrart and others.
