Course objectives
Born in New York, the musical is a today's phenomen. Broadway (New York), West End (London) and Vienna are the biggest centres of a present musical theatre. This course will be about the musical's expansion, present situation around the musical theatre and about the main composers from 90s to present (A.L.Webber, S.Sondheim, C.M.Schönberg, E.John, J. Larson, M. Hollmann etc). Highlights AIDS and gay musical, today's Broaway and West End situation.
