Course objectives
The lecture is outlined as contribution towards history of world theatre and set design in the beginning of 20th century. The aim is to show how looks like the boom of symbolism movement in Russia, specially in theatre and find differences between French and Russian culture. Particular attention will be paid to the new structure of dramatic texts of second wave (Blok, Belyj, Ivanov), which came a new structure of drama, and to the reconstruction of a phaenomenal production of V. Mejerhold on Komissarzevskaja stage.
