Course objectives
Medieval latin is a historico-cultural and linguistic phenomenon, continuing the old tradition of latin language and literature of Classical Antiquity. The course on medieval latin exemplifies this continuity and brings up the main characteristics of medieval latin and literature, acting as upholders of spiritual culture in both the European and Czech Middle Ages. The course also presents medieval latin as the language of historical sources and diplomatic documents. It outlines all information about the sources and specialized literature for further study of this topic.
