Požadavky ke kolokviu: - znalost základních přírodovědných metod používaných v archeologii, jejich princip a možnost využití - znalost klasifikačních metod vyvřelých, sedimentárních a metamorfovaných hornin - poznat nejméně 40 vzorků hornin z 5Oti předložených ukázek

Course objectives
Course description: An introduction into the basic mineralogical, petrographic and geochemical methods as currently applied in archaeology, introduction to the primary practical methods for determining stone materials used in prehistory.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction, Research on Masaryk University, definition of petroarchaeology, collections of minerals. 2. Methods: archaeological, geological,chemical... 3. Survay of porphyries and their usage. 4. Survay of sedimets and their usage. 5. Survay of metamorphic rocks and their usage. 6. Material of chipping artefacts. 7. Material of polishing artefacts. 8. Sources of minerals - Cu, Sn, Au, Ag and FE, build materials, jewellery. 9. Mining and trade. 10.-15. Cognition practice.
