Course objectives
The seminar is based on the scrutiny of the development of Czech theatre after WW2. Attention will be paid to printed material - period periodicals, especially. One of the key issues is the changing role and function of the theatre, and its relation to the cultural politics in the country post-1945 and especially post-1948. The work in seminars is planned as a preliminary editorial work on an anthology of period texts on theatre.
