- Course objectives
- The format of the music video has altered the way people perceive music and musicians and became a source of representations crossing the borders of pop culture. It has altered the listeners' and viewers' habits and undergoes various modifications itself. At the end of this course students should be albe to understand various possible readings of the format (in relation to the musician's image, marketing strategies or directorial approaches). They will also learn about the history of the format. The course deliniates with so-called amateur videos as well as renown music video directors. The aim of the course is to introduce the format as a complex one and one with steady development.
