Course objectives
The course is oriented to the development of design from mid-19th century to the present with a special emphasis to the metamorphoses of form, materials and technology in frame of individual styles and trends. Special issues will include furniture, domestic culture and consumer products. More domains (means of transport, industry, engineering etc.) will be mentioned in a brief summary. The aim of the course is to get the basic orientation in the observed problems.
