Course objectives
Issues in mediation of information, professional terminology, to demand of information career and existing trends of information science are major themes for the course. Students are introduced to fundamentals, reason and current situation of information science. At the end of this propaedeutic motivational course, students should: Have an understanding of concepts of information, information system, documents, digitalization and it’s limitations. Understand the importance of a mediation of information and knowledge and a role of information professional in society. Be able to present brief report in public.

  • Information as expression of diversity in objects and processes of biotic and abiotic nature

  • Documents, documentation, electronic sources and it’s attributes

  • Digitalization of texts, images and sounds
