Course objectives
The main objectives of the course are the following: make clear the problem of information behaviour in the information science; present overview of theories and experiences and also brand new trends in the area of information behaviour; show the methods of research and areas of application; apply selected method on to the solving of chosen problem.
Syllabus
  • Information society (approaches, conceptions). Terminology. Changes in a libraries.
  • Changes in a global communication of information and the information society. New approaches of the information science (using examples of an information survey theories. New stereotypes in a work of information institutions.
  • Position of a man in a library and information processes. Roles of an information specialists in the information society. Partner relationships user – information professional.
  • Knowledge management in the information society. Modelling of a knowledge. Human and social aspects of the knowledge management, architecture and supporting systems. Applying knowledge management way. Relationships of libraries and knowledge management in the information society.
  • Information produkt – theoretical basement of the information science, practical category of the information society. Digital libraries – terminology and context by proceeding to the information society.
