Course objectives
The aim of the course "The Contemporary Brazilian Literature I" is to make students acqainted with the short story master pieces written by Brazilian authors in the second half of the 20th century and interpret together chosen short stories. Students should be able to analyze texts individually, to manage apply the literary terms obtained in lectures about literary theory and discuss with their classmates about possibilities of interpretations in the analyzed texts. At the end of this course, students should be able to work with any text and to ask appropriate questions about its decoding.

Teaching methods
Seminar:Students present their analysis in front of the others, this way they can show their capability to apply theoritical knoledge in praxis. The following discussion can deepen the interpretation and brings other points of view to the chosen short story.
Assessment methods
Credit: is obtained for a written interpretation of a chosen text, activity in lessons, own preparation and attendance 70%.
