- Course objectives
- The aim of the lecture is to present the contents of the field of studies as a scholarly discipline. Students will become familiar with basic characteristics of the development of Modern Greek language. At the end of the course, students will be capable of using basic scholarly linguistic terminology. Students will be able to understand the most significant patterns of development of Modern Greek literature from the national revival onwards and they will gain first-hand literary experience based on their own reading. Students will be capable of independent searching for information and bibliography concerning the field of studies.

- The subject of Modern Greek Studies within the framework of Greek Studies.
- Problems of the development of Modern Greek language, its relation to other Balkan languages.
- Basic phenomena of Modern Greek literature and history.
- Information about basic texts in the field.
