Course objectives
Main aims of the course are:
elaborating knowledge on early Czech literature;
intensified mastering of references and methodology;
perfecting interpretation skills;
managing basic findings and methodics of related disciplines;
application of knowledge and skills within elaboration of academic assay.
Course for Master s degree takes heed of special topics, which could not have been explained in the course of Bachelors degree (e.g. other representants of the legends, satyre and chronicles). At the end of the course, the student should be able to understand specific features of old Czech literature;
to use its genre system;
to compare it with the model of the modern literature;

Teaching methods
Reading of selected, more demanding extracts in order to master a higher number of complete early Czech texts. Discussion on selected, more complicated interpretation problems. Methodical notes on writing seminar works. Discussion on writing seminar works.
Assessment methods
Credit on the basis of the active work of student and his essay. The condition of the enter for exam is the list of the primary literature of the student encluding two scientific studies on the old Czech theme.
