Course objectives
At the end of the course students will be able to define periods of creative periods of K. S. Stanislavski and his pupils M. Czekhov and Y. B. Vakhtangov. The acting of Stanislavski and his pedagogic work will be stressed out. The particular periods of Moscow Art theatre and its Studios from 1989 until 1938 will be defined. Students will have an opportunity to get to know of historical documents: historical photos, video-record of Stanislavski at the rehaersal or a video-record of a remake Vakhtangov´s Turandot. Certain lessons will be devoted to the reading of selected chaptures of An Actor prepares, To the Actor and Six Lessons of Dramatic Art.

Teaching methods
The course will combine: lecture on the historical context of Stanislavski life and work reading and class discussion on selected chaptures of K. S. Stanislavski and M.Čechov texts photo- and video- documentation
