Course objectives
The lecture is intended as an introduction into the historical morphology of the verbal system of old Greek. At the end of the course students should have basic knowledge of the organization of the verbal system of old Greek and of its historical development from Proto-Indo-European origins.
Syllabus
  • – Personal endings of the old Greek verb – verbal accent – formation of (primary) present, aorist and perfect stems – formation of secondary verbal stems – moods of the Greek verb and their functions – infinitives – participles
