Hugo de Sancto Victore, Didascalion. Lecture of the text, commentary, interpretation.
Syllabus
  • Introduction into the literature, theological and philosophical thinking of the 12th century; St. Victor cloister school in Paris; Hugo de Sancto Victore, life, work, significance, tradition; "Educational" literature in the Middle Ages, septem artes, content of school education; Reading: Didascalion, Book III + related texts from other authors (Abaelard, Osbert de Sancto Victore).
