Course objectives
The purpose of this course is to widen the topics discussed in Brasilian literature. Focus will be place namely on the literature of the 19th and the 20th century. The students' own lectures and subsequent analyses of selected texts will be stressed.

Teaching methods
Seminar: In the form of a presentation students show their capability to apply their theoretical knoledge in a concrete text. The following discussion brings feedback and other different points of view.
Assessment methods
Credit - is obtained for an oral paper and text analysis and for attendance - 70 %.
