Главные предметы лекции: исторический и литературно-исторический контекст 1890-х – 1910-х годов; общие проблемы модернизма и авангарда в литературе и культуре; модернизм и авангард в русской литературе; главные черты символизма, акмеизма и футуризма (истоки, философские и культурные основы, жанры, темы, авторы, произведения); анализ и интерпретация избранных стихотворений З. Гиппиус, Ф. Сологуба, В. Брюсова, К. Бальмонта, В. Иванова, А. Блока, А. Белого, Н. Гумилева, А. Ахматовой, О. Мандельштама, В. Маяковского, В. Хлебникова и др.
