Course objectives (in Czech)

Přednáškový cyklus nastíní vznika žánru musicalu ze starších vokálně instrumentálních jevištních děl typu opery a operety, vysvětlí obrovský boom tohoto žánru v posledních desetiletích a to i ze sociologického hlediska. Bude otevřena polemika o tom, zda se musical nestal operou 21.století a zda ji v tomto smyslu nenahradil. Životnost opery jako žánru bude v těchto souvislostech rovněž živě diskutována. Teoretický výklad a diskuse k tématu budou vydatně doplněny videonahrávkami četných muzikálů a komentována bude i inscenační problematika.
