Course objectives
City public events will be studied in a location of a city of Brno (i. e. squares, streets, places for a recreation, districts and suburbs) during the whole year 2011. Research will run paralely in two layers. 1. Searching for public events in lineas - politics (meetings, demonstrations, state anniversaries, events at the public monuments), sport activities (collective and individual sports), commercial (promo action, advertaisement, street selling, markets, selling of the newspaper), entertainment (public concerts and exhibition, weekend entertainment in pubs, night life). The research will be focused on that kind of activities where the studying of temporal structure, the active and spectator role, scenography, using of costume can be studied. 2. This layer will be based on terrain research, documenting, interviews with participants of the events. The material will be consequently analyze. Students will work in small teams of 2 – 5, with a possibility to concentrate on one linea.
