Course objectives
The main objective of the course is to acquaint the students with basics of Akkadian language of Old-Babylonian phase. Teaching of cuneiform will focus on the monumental and cursive form of characters that the students might frequently encounter in their future practice. After mastering basic grammatical paradigms, the students will also be acquainted with simple Akkadian written texts of economic and, eventually, literary character.
