These expressions can be found not only in European traditional folk culture, but in all known human societies. Main attention is paid to field of oral prose narratives; storytelling of traditional stories with various social and cultural functions, which are conceptualized as verbal folklore, folk literature, oral literature or verbal art. Main purpose of the course is to present rich field of informally transmitted and collective-based prosaic narratives on specific examples and show their transcultural richness and transformations - from traditional oral folklore forms (myths. legends, folktales) to the contemporary ones (jokes, rumours, contemporary legends), with attention to non-orally transmitted phenomena (writtten folklore, office folklore, electronical folklore).
