Course objectives
Lectures will be dedicated to the history of cinema technology in the world and in the Czech Republic, and concerned especially with the first 50 years of existence of cinema, with few overlaps to the more recent years. We will focus on those aspect of cinema technology, that condition estethic and style qualities of films and their reception. The main goal of the course is to prepare students for contact with film material or cinema technology, to accent the importance of these object in ceratin types of research and to familiarize them with basic issues of film preservation and restoration.
