- Course objectives
- Two-semester lecture series is focused on contemporary Poland. The aim of the course is to introduce students to the development of contemporary Polish society, historical and cultural background, Polish traditions and habits and Polish perceptions of Europe and the world. The lectures deal with the questions of Polish language, literature, culture, art, social life, Polish-Czech relations, etc. The course is intended not only for the students of Polish studies, but mainly for students of other subjects, who are interested to become familiar with selected aspects of social, cultural and scientific life in contemporary Poland. At the end of the course, students will be able to understand the issues and to explain current events in Poland.
