Course objectives
The course helps to understand the basic elements of Hasidism as a mystical movement within Judaism. After completing the course students will be able to: incorporate Hasidic movement in the context of the Jewish religion; demonstrate factual knowledge of the historical development of the movement, including its major representatives; interpret the basic features of the mystical and ecstatic model of Jewish mysticism

Teaching methods
The course consists of lectures, seminars and seminar discussions. Part of homework is reading assigned texts. Before the seminar is timely submission of required reading comments from seminar given text.
Assessment methods
Requirements for the successful completion of the course are: 1) passing the final test (limit throughput: at least 60 points out of 100 possible), 2) Timely submission of comments to the specified reading seminar, 3) active participation in the three seminar discussions.
