the Belgian Literature I and II iare focused on the analysis and history of the theatrical text in French Belgium. During this course, the history of theater in Belgium - development, institutions, working, people - and authors will be explained; we will read and comment on items in the classroom.

Course objectives
Reading text Belgian theater, chronological account of the development of institutions and the Belgian theatrical literary field.

  • Biographies, works, literary characteristics together with political, social, artistic context ... Analysis of excerpts.

Teaching methods
Lecture: description of the literary field, explanation and definition of basic notions and their demonstration on concrete texts by concrete authors.
Assessment methods
Examination: written: a test or text analysis in the form of a seminar paper or an essay on a theme chosen in the discussed matter, assigned by the professor.
