Course objectives
The subject is an introduction to the work of one of the most interesting and complex Spanish novelists of the second half of XXth century Spain, Miguel Espinosa. His novels will be studied paying special attention to the historic circumsntances, the interaction between philosophy and literature. During the course, some contemporary currents of sociology and theory of literature will be considered, as well as Spanish contemporary literature. Translation problems will also be discussed.

Teaching methods
Given the difficulty of the work, there will be a selection of texts. The student will be asked to read at least one of the novels and prepare a presentation. Classes will alternate lectures and discussion. Attendance and participation is compulsory.
