Course objectives

The main purpose of this course is to familiarize students with the concepts Free access to information and the Right to information, in relation to the library-information profession. An important part of the course focuses on the analysis of the Law on Free Access to Information.
At the end of this course, students should understand the issue of Free access to information and Intellectual Freedom, and be able to identify and provide information on the legislation.

Syllabus

• Definition of free access to information;
• legalization of the right to information as a sign of democratic society;
• analysis of the Free Access to Information Law, Free Access to Information about Environment Law;
• Libraries as a place to free access to information ;
• which institutions are obliged to give information;
• concrete examples
