At the end of the course students should be able to:
write short, simple notes and messages relating to matters in areas of immediate need;
write simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest;
write personal letters describing experiences and impressions;

In case of illness or other extenuating circumstances, the student must present documented evidence of inability to attend classes to the class instructor. However, in such cases the student is responsible for all work missed during those absences.
