- Course objectives
- The course deals with the topic of geographical organization of society, including a development of this organization. The main goal is to give an integrated insight of geographical structure and its changes and society´s development within these structures. An attention is aimed to a natural dependency in a development (e.g. agricultural dependency on climate changes) and to economic and cultural frameworks which steadily influence spatial concentration of population and its economic activities (responsible for global hierarchy formation). Development frameworks are introduced on general level as well as within specific contexts of different regions using comparisons and examples from Europe and Middle East. Political conflicts and its impact on spatially-societal strictures is also a content of the course. The course gives a possibility to spread into regional disparities and to understand its wider socio-economical context for those who will need a better orientation during their stay abroad within their archaeological praxis.
